Madison's Birthday

Madison turned 12 this year, which meant the beginning of many new exciting adventures for her. She is now a part of the young women's program at church and even got to go to girls camp this past summer. She made so many friends at camp and still hasn't stopped talking about what a fun experience camp was for her. She informed me today that she is really looking forward to going next year as the cabins will be air conditioned and camp will be somewhere on a ranch in Orlando. I suppose cabins with A/C is considered "roughing it" these days for girls!

Madison wanted to have her birthday at the beach this year, which I thought was a great idea because it meant I didn't have to clean up before or after the attendees. She came up with the idea to send the invites complete with sand and shells, so we put our creative skills to work and the invites were a hit - although I don't recommend sending them in the mail - it cost us way too much money! Florida is known for the hundreds of days of sunshine that we enjoy each year and wouldn't you know it - August 12th wasn't one of them! It rained and rained, so we moved the party to an indoor pool. It wasn't the beach, but the girls made the best of it and everyone had a great time!
